Art and Video Submissions Guidelines

  • Name and contact information including address, phone, and email.

  • Title of Piece

  • Format (Circle one) Video / DVD / Installation / Photo / Painting / Other: explain.

  • Short description of your submission. Please address the following questions within the page limit:
    How does your submission specifically address the conference theme: forging stronger connections between independent media and social justice organizers? If it doesn’t directly address this theme, please explain why you feel it is important to include your work in the conference.
    Please note run time and/or size and dimension of your piece.

  • A 150-word description of your piece, ready for publication on the web and in the program guide. You can include website information so participants can access links to more information.

  • Names, titles and organizational affiliations/descriptions (if any) of artist/filmmaker with a 25-50-word biography.

  • Tech. equipment and material wish-list. (We will try our best to accommodate as many requests as possible within the restrictions of our limited budget. Please think through your proposal carefully - last minute requests, especially for audio/visual needs, will not be considered)

  • A short description of how you will help promote the conference – i.e. email blasts to your contacts, website links, etc. Please refer to our press release to assist your promotional efforts.

  • Would you agree to be listed as an official endorser of the NYC Grassroots Media Conference? This is a way for participating people and groups to show your support to the Coalition’s efforts.
