Workers' Independent News, a national news program focusing on the issues that affect working people, has developed a curriculum to help community groups get their messages out to the media and the public. This workshop will provide an outline of the curriculum and include discussion about how participants can use the strategy to get news out about their issues and initiatives. http://www.laborradio.org/
Zoe is the Director of Employment and Community Development at the Queens Community House. She is also a freelance reporter for Free Speech Radio News and has been training adult English language learners on podcasting for the past 3 years.
Frank is a union activist and the President of his local. He worked as a skilled machinist for 15 years in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he was also a community activist. He co-founded Workers' Independent News in 2002 to put bring a discussion of the issues facing working people into national news.
