Short Description:

The Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC) is a diverse organization with girls representing many backgrounds and cultures. The diverse nature of our organization is represented in all of our programs and workshops. The Lower Eastside Girls Club will present their new Citizen Journalism site: Geo Girls, (www.girlville.info/geo) a location based website using Google Earth Pro, Picasa, text, and web video. This is a teaching tool we have designed to enable students to explore, document, and present neighborhood issues block by block. Participants in this workshop will actually create a Geo Girls page, featuring the Grassroots Media Conference.
